Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has presented high awards and the Presidential Commendations to the participants and organizers of the space flight of the first cosmonaut in Belarus’ sovereign history. Respective decrees and orders were signed by the President. Russian nationals were among the awardees.
The flight of cosmonaut Marina Vasilevskaya to the ISS heralds a new milestone in Belarus’ participation in space programs and a new level of allied relations with Russia, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a ceremony to honor the Belarusian cosmonauts.

On 18 March Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 99 to honor deputies of the House of Representatives and members of the Council of the Republic with state awards for their effective state and public work, significant personal contribution to law-making and parliamentarism.
On 23 February, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 70 to award the Order of the Mother.
