Vegetable Garden
The Head of State is not afraid to experiment. He is the first in the country to plant new varieties of crops. The President also has a farm with horses, cows, goats, sheep, rabbits, birds, cats and dogs. Many of them have been shown on TV. The President uses gardening as the way to relax, to reminisce about his childhood years when he drew a horse to hill potatoes… Farming and gardening require a great deal of physical effort. Those who are used to scything, know what it takes. Grass and hay from the President's farmstead (sometimes even mowed by distinguished guests) will always be of use.
Of course, while working on the native land you can take your mind off work and think about simple and important things. Time will put everything in its place. The place of strength (your strength and people’s strength) should be preserved. It is important to cherish what you have. You can survive in today’s big world only if you have strong roots. Land needs a farmer with strong hands, a person who is not afraid of work and is ready to pass his knowledge and strength to his children and grandchildren, to teach relatives and friends. It was in the past, it is in the present and it will continue well into the future.
We also know for sure that happiness and goodness are multiplied by sharing. Farming and gardening are not just about working the land. It is about spending time with your loved ones, sharing the results of your work with those who need it more. It has become a good tradition for the President to share his harvest with orphanages and nursing homes.
Many famous people who have visited Belarus have tasted vegetables from the President’s garden.
Belarusian potatoes, the country’s well-known brand, are grown in the garden of the Georgian president, and can be found on the table of many celebrities, diplomats, and friends of the President, the country, and Belarusians.
