Journalists working with the Head of State know that most of the time the President's working trips go beyond the plan. Whenever he makes a speech, or talks to people Aleksandr Lukashenko would always go off script. This improvisation creates very unique Moments, the best footage which will remain in the history of independent Belarus.
Every spring when nature recovers from winter sleep the head of state works with fellow Belarusians to brush up various facilities and premises across the country. Among them were the Dynamo Stadium that hosted the 2nd European Games, a children’s polyclinic, the Stalin Line complex where 75 oaks were planted in the run-up to the 75th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation in order to remind today’s generation about the feat of their ancestors.
It’s no secret that Aleksandr Lukashenko is an adherent of a healthy and active lifestyle. Sport is an integral part of the President’s daily life. He is a huge fan of both traditional sports and popular physical activities. One of them is wood chopping. By the way, the Head of State learned this craft at an early age.
The President’s initiatives are always continued by those who work with him. Recently, media workers became interested in wood chopping, too. The first wood chopping challenge among journalists was held on the bank of the Vyacha River near Minsk on 7 November 2022.
Aleksandr Lukashenko could not stand aside and held a wood chopping master class for the participants of the event. He showed how to chop a large log using an axe and a sledgehammer, helped himself to a plate of soldier’s porridge, talked to heads of mass media outlets in an improvised club of editors.
The New Year and Christmas season is a special time for the President. This is the time to make a fairy tale come true for those who impatiently wait for it. Our Children charity campaign has been held annually in Belarus since 1995. The campaign culminates ahead of New Year celebrations with the President's New Year party for children in the Palace of the Republic.
In turn, young people are invited to attend a ball in the Palace of Independence, which is another beautiful new tradition of sovereign Belarus. The austere and officially-looking palace embraces the atmosphere of elegance and grace. The palace welcomes hundreds of talented, academically successful high school and university students. The Belarusian President also takes part in the event.
The country’s borders and the hearts of Belarusians are always open to kindred spirits.
Belarus is an open country, a country where roads are smooth and winds are easy. This is appreciated by numerous visitors, including bikers from all over the world who often lay their routes via Belarus. The Head of State also likes riding a motorcycle. Quite a few times the President and his sons drove motorcycles at the head of the column of bikers. Aleksandr Lukashenko is an experienced motorcyclist. He had a Yava and a Minsk before his presidency. Some people will say it is just a hobby, others will see big politics. Dozens of flags of western and eastern countries are flying above the bikers’ column. Hundreds of bikers are riding alongside the President. They are welcome guests in Belarus as the participants of the bikers’ festival do not need visas.
