Condolences to the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani

    Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent condolences to the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on the passing of the Father Emir of Qatar, ⁠Sheikh Hamad bin ⁠Khalifa Al Thani.

    The president emphasized that the news of Sheikh Hamad’s death was received with deep sorrow in Belarus. Sheikh Hamad made an exceptional contribution to the formation of modern Qatar. “Under his leadership, your country emerged as a global leader in economic development, energy, and investment, and considerably raised its profile on the regional stage. Sheikh Hamad’s wisdom, statesmanship and devotion to his Homeland will forever remain part of the history of the State of Qatar,” the condolence message reads.

    Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that Sheikh Hamad was a true friend to Belarus. “It was the Father Emir who stood at the origins of fruitful cooperation between Minsk and Doha, laying a solid foundation for the further expansion of bilateral relations in the spirit of mutual respect, trust and partnership,” the Belarusian leader said.

    On behalf of the people of Belarus and on his own behalf, the Belarusian leader expressed sincere condolences to the Emir and conveyed words of support to the members of the royal family, the relatives and close ones of Sheikh Hamad, and the people of the State of Qatar.
