Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko addressed an important message to the younger generation of Belarus as he spoke at the New Year's Eve Ball in the Palace of Independence on 24 December.
“I will tell you and all your peers the main thing: you have Belarus, the state that has created decent living conditions for personal and professional development. This is your shield. You should always carry it with honor and dignity,” said the Belarusian leader.
The head of state wished the representatives of the new generation to leave a bright creative mark on the history of their country. “Our state, just like you, is very young. It is important not only to preserve the existing traditions but also to start new ones. We have many traditions and I have always done my best to keep them alive. There is no country without traditions. This is the face of any country,” the president said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished the younger generation to be bold, brave and very creative, "though do not go overboard."
"Please, remember that the future of our native Belarus, your Belarus, is in your hands," the head of state said. He wished all the participants of the ball a bright, interesting and prosperous future.
