Armored Infantry Day greetings

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated veterans and servicemen of armored formations and military units of the Armed Forces on the Armored Infantry Day.

“Over the centuries, the names, tactics and armament of the oldest troops in the history of mankind have changed, but the sacred purpose of the legendary infantry - the defense of the Fatherland - remains unchanged,” the congratulatory message reads. “Infantry soldiers covered themselves with unfading dying glory during the Great Patriotic War. Belarus remembers their steadfastness and courage in the summer days of 1941, and then in June-July 1944 as they drove the invaders from our land.”

The head of state noted that armored formations are now the pride of the country's Armed Forces and the most important factor of strategic deterrence.

“I am convinced that our mobile, well-trained and well-equipped armored infantry units are capable of carrying out combat training missions to ensure military security of the state,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The President thanked the personnel and veterans for their service and wished them good health, happiness, family prosperity and new successes in the noble cause of serving the Fatherland.
