State Awards

One of the important consistent elements of the statehood of the Republic of Belarus is its State Awards.

State Awards of the Republic of Belarus are the highest form of rewarding citizens of the Republic of Belarus, foreign citizens, and stateless persons. They are presented in recognition of the contribution to protecting and strengthening the state, enriching the country’s economic and spiritual potential.

The decision to present State Awards of the Republic of Belarus is made by the Head of State on the basis of information presented by the staff of organizations, the governing bodies of civil society associations, state administration authorities, local government bodies and self-government bodies.

State Awards of the Republic of Belarus are presented by the President or other officials on his behalf.

The description of orders, medals of the Republic of Belarus and lapel badges of honor of the Republic of Belarus was authorized by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of April 8, 2005 No. 168.
