Prosperity, stability, and peaceful existence of Belarus are in hands of young Belarusians. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement in his speech at the national ball for university graduates on 26 June.
The head of state called upon the young people to seek their future in Belarus. “I say it not because I am the president. It is your land. You will always be needed here, in this land. You will always feel at home here. You will be masters of this land. Your knowledge, skills and enterprising spirit will always find applications. Love your country and work for its benefit. Apart from material wellbeing you will be able to earn the respect of your compatriots, which is more important than money,” Aleksandr Lukashenko told those present.
“Young people are responsible for our Belarus. Its prosperity, stability, and peaceful existence are in your hands as of today,” the head of state told the university graduates.
The President stressed that the Belarusian nation will be able to look into the future with confidence if young people are willing to create and be masters of their own land, if they are willing to understand and appreciate beauty and kindness. It is important for young people to respect the wise traditions passed down by ancestors. It is important for young people to try and accomplish as many good deeds as possible for the sake of future generations, added Aleksandr Lukashenko.
“The most difficult period in your lives is over. There is only one condition: you must avoid reckless mistakes, find right solutions of life issues in the future. We must choose your future path once and for all. You must build the foundation of your lives, build the house where you will live,” the head of state stressed.
The graduates could learn a lot, the President continued. “The main thing is that you not only became older, but became adult people. You learned how to withstand difficulties,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
President said that it is a responsible time for university graduates who will master the chosen professions, build families and begin an independent life.
The head of state said that young people had an opportunity to acquire modern knowledge and useful skills. The state did its best provide them with guaranteed jobs, the Belarusian leader added.
The national ball for university graduates was attended by the best pedagogues. “A teacher has a very important social mission as he shapes the future of the nation. The achievements of your students show that you cope with this difficult task,” the President emphasized.
The head of state reminded that this year is the Year of Youth in Belarus. “It is not accidental. Your role in all spheres of life of the country is increasing today. You will build the future,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
University graduates will build a career at manufacturing enterprises, in science, business or public administration. “We are interested in your success. The energy and perseverance of young people is an important resource in the development of the state. Your success is our success,” the President noted.
These graduates begin their adult life in a complicated period for the country, the head of state said. “If is the time when high professionalism, moral principles and serious attitude to work are especially important,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

“The main things are our independence and sovereignty. We are free people. We live in an independent country,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
The President said that the situation in the Belarusian society is calm. “It means that we are worth a lot. Maybe, we have made certain mistakes, maybe, we still need to do a lot, but it means that we have created the country where we will bring up and teach our children. It is our Homeland,” he said.
The President said that he does not want to argue with those who want to go abroad to earn more money and look for a better place under the sun. “I will not argue, but one thing is clear: there will be no other land for you, the land where you were born. People do not choose their Homeland, their native country, their mother. People even do not criticize them. They must cherish these God-given things,” Aleksandr Lukashenko concluded.
