Telephone conversation between Aleksandr Lukashenko, Vladimir Putin

    The President of the Republic of Belarus and the President of the Russian Federation had a telephone conversation on 16 December.

    Meetings of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and the Supreme State Council of the Union State are due in Moscow on 24-25 December. Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin considered the agenda of the upcoming events, and discussed in detail the matters which the summits are expected to pass decisions on. Other topical issues of the bilateral relations were also touched upon in the conversation.

    Vladimir Putin invited his Belarusian counterpart to see the Olympic facilities in Sochi.

    In the next few days the President of Belarus is planning to visit Sochi to get familiar with the infrastructure of the Olympic Games in Sochi, and to inspect the preparedness of the Belarusian facilities for this most important international sport event.
