Belarus President’s scholarships for 2025 awarded to 66 young scientists

    The Belarus President’s scholarships for the year 2025 have been awarded to 66 young scientists. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed the relevant executive order on 11 December.

    The awardees include 5 doctors of sciences under 45, 35 candidates of sciences under 35, and 26 young scientists under 30 without a scientific degree. They specialize in physics and math, technology, chemistry, biology, healthcare, pharmaceutics, agrarian sciences, social sciences, humanities, and Earth sciences. Every scholarship holder has achieved significant results and accomplishments in priority areas of scientific work, R&D work, and innovation work. They have contributed to Belarus’ social and economic development.

    All the research and development efforts are of applied nature. Their results have been assimilated into the practical work of organizations belonging to the real sector of the economy, in healthcare, education, and science institutions.

    The Belarus President has been awarding scholarships to young scientists since 2005 depending on results of the annual open republican contest with a view to stimulating the creative initiative and intelligent search by young scientists.

    This measure of state support is supposed to keep young Belarusians working in the sphere of science, bolster the personnel potential of scientific organizations, and foster the development of domestic scientific schools, which are supposed to secure breakthrough products in branches of the real sector of the economy and the social sphere.
