Special regime of awarding pensions to people injured in Minsk metro terrorist attack introduced

A special regime of awarding pensions to the people injured in the Minsk metro terrorist attack. This is envisaged in the decree “On awarding pensions to the people injured in the terrorist attack” which was signed by Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko.

The document aims to improve the social protection of people whose disability was caused by the injuries after the terrorist attack at the Oktyabrskaya metro station in Minsk on 11 April 2011.

The decree provided for a special regime of awarding pensions to the injured.

These pensions will be calculated from the salaries for 12 months prior to the terrorist attack depending on the degree of occupational disability (instead of the established disability category).

These pensions will be recalculated in connection with the growth of the average salary in the republic.

The decree will help increase pensions awarded to the people injured in the Minsk metro terrorist attack.
