Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko demanded to work
out a set of proposals to improve the training of top-qualification scientists
at the meeting with Chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission Gennady
Palchik on 2 August.
The main issue of his report to the President was the preparation of top-qualification scientists in the context of the tasks set at the 5th All-Belarusian People’s Congress dedicated to the innovative development of the state. “We are focused on the innovative development of our country and economy. Of course, it is impossible without scientific support, educated, highly-qualified, and trained personnel. The Higher Attestation Commission is in the center of this work,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
The involvement of scientists in the production process is the main component of innovative development.
Aleksandr Lukashenko also wondered what can be done in Belarus to raise the prestige of scientific work taking into account the demands of scientists and the opportunities of the state.
According to Gennady Palchik, special funds of the President annually provide scholarships to young scientists. At the same time, they can get a preferential housing construction loan. “Such social support is systematic and productive, and it will be further developed,” the chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission noted.
