Greetings to participants of Minsk International Book Fair

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to the participants and guests of the 31st edition of the Minsk International Book Fair and the 10th International Symposium of Writers “Writer and Time”.

“Your unique cultural and business platform in the very heart of Belarus has once again gathered the best ideas, talents, new books from around the world, and has become a feast for true book lovers,” the greetings read.

The head of state emphasized that the theme of the book fair - the 80th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from the Nazi invaders - gives a special meaning to this year’s event. This theme was central in the works of Belarusian classic literature authors and received a new interpretation in the works of contemporaries.

“It is important today that the ideas that writers conveyed through their books shape people’s spiritual and moral guidelines, foster a sense of responsibility for the future of their country, and help consolidate the society in the face of modern threats and challenges,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.

Aleksandr Lukashenko believes that the forum will be a success and will be remembered by its participants and visitors for its profound discussions and will help strengthen international cultural ties. He wished everyone fruitful work, nice meetings and interesting discoveries.
