National Day greetings to people of Romania
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko sent greeting to the people of Romania as the country celebrates the national day - the 105th anniversary of the Great Union Day.
"The main ideas of this holiday were the reconciliation and consolidation of society around the fundamental values of the Romanian state: independence and sovereignty, spiritual heritage and cultural traditions," the congratulatory message reads.
The historical destinies of Belarusians and Romanians are very similar. They firmly adhere to the principles of solidarity and mutual assistance, carefully preserve the memory of their ancestors, their identity and customs which make them unique European peoples, the Belarusian leader noted.
"Today Belarus remains faithful to its convictions, committed to a peaceful constructive dialogue on the basis of respect and equality. I am confident that our countries have great potential for cooperation and will be able to find ways to resume full-fledged relations," the President stressed.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished citizens of Romania new achievements, prosperity and progress.
