Greetings to SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming

    Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Zhang Ming on the 23rd anniversary of the organization.

    “Over these years the organization has succeeded in creating a unique cohesive ‘Shanghai family’ and ensuring its strategic independence,” the head of state said. “Today it is one of the most influential structures of the emerging multipolar world, an effective platform for equal partnership in political, economic and humanitarian dimensions.”

    “Very soon the Republic of Belarus will become the tenth member of the SCO,” the message of greetings reads. “We are firmly aimed at making a practical contribution to cooperation on Eurasian security, sustainable development, transport interconnectivity, financial mechanisms, industrial cooperation, humanitarian contacts, and also countering the three forces of evil - separatism, extremism and terrorism.”

    Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed gratitude for the systemic support provided by the SCO Secretariat to Belarus throughout its accession to the organization.

    The President of Belarus wished Zhang Ming and the staff of the SCO standing bodies outstanding achievements for the prosperity of the organization.
