Piotr Miklashevich appointed Chairman of Belarus’ Constitutional Court

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has appointed Piotr Miklashevich Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Belarus with the subsequent agreement of the appointment with the Council of the Republic. The head of state has signed a corresponding decree.

In accordance with the legislation, the Chairperson of the Constitutional Court of Belarus shall be appointed by the President with the consent of the Council of the Republic from the judges of the Constitutional Court for the period of five years.
