Greetings to 4th International Anti-Fascist Congress participants

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko sent a message to the participants of the 4th International Anti-Fascist Congress.

The head of state noted that the 4th Belarusian-Russian congress is taking place in the year marking the 85th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.

“June 1941 changed the course of history. It was here, on the territory of occupied Belarus, that crimes were committed the likes of which the world had never seen. Here, Nazi Germany and its accomplices encountered unprecedented nationwide resistance from Red Army soldiers, partisans, underground fighters, and civilians,” the message says.

“And today, we, the heirs of the victors, are fighting for the memory of the heroes and the millions of innocent victims. We are discovering previously unknown mass graves, opening archives, and bringing to light new facts and names, including those of Nazi punishers and their collaborators who hid overseas and escaped justice,” the President emphasized. “Our cause is just, and the truthful history of the Great Victory is the most important counterargument against Western European revanchism and the open promotion of fascist, Nazi, and xenophobic ideologies.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed confidence that the voice of the congress will sound loud and convincing in defense of peace and the equal rights of all humanity to life, national dignity, and the sovereign choice of their country’s future.
