New Year party as part of Our Children charity campaign

Belarus does everything for all-round development of children, President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the children’s New Year party held on 23 December as part of Our Children charity campaign.

“We have great and glorious history, rich culture, and beautiful nature. But the most important thing that we have is our sincere and hardworking people. Many generations of Belarusians have been working on our land, taking care of it and defending it. We should look far ahead into the future of Belarus. It is you who will be responsible for the development of our country in 20, 30 or 50 years,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The President encouraged children to overcome all obstacles on the way to their goals, love their Homeland, take care of the country’s wellbeing, value peace and security. “I would like you to be happy and live in harmony with your family and friends, to face the future with optimism, and to hope for the best. If you fail at something, remember that there are many kind people in the country who will not leave you in trouble,” the head of state stressed.

Speaking about the long-awaited winter holidays, Aleksandr Lukashenko said that it is a special time when you want to do some good things, share joy and good humor with people around you.

The President believes it is important for all children to feel that they are loved and needed. This is the main priority of Our Children campaign. Representatives of the country’s authorities and business join the campaign and visit children throughout Belarus to wish them Happy New Year and Merry Christmas. “More and more people from all parts of Belarus try to make their contribution to this important initiative in an effort to make our world a better place. We can consider the year wasted if there are no happy faces around,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The head of state remarked that it is also important to provide special care and attention to senior citizens and the elderly, especially during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Together with the children, the President watched the New Year show Chrystal Melody about the triumph of kindness and justice over evil. “Let this story guide you through your life. I sincerely hope that friendship, peace, and understanding will always help you win and fulfill your cherished dreams. I also hope that your parents and teachers will be proud of your achievements,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

At the end of the event, children gave handmade presents to the President.

Children from all regions of Belarus in the age from 8 to 14 were invited for the New Year party.
