Meeting of Russian media chief editors club hosted by TASS

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko attended a meeting of the Russian media chief editors club hosted by TASS on 29 June.
During the open conversation which lasted for about three hours the participants of the meeting discussed a wide range of issues. The Belarusian-Russian relations were in the spotlight. Aleksandr Lukashenko spoke about the progress in the development of bilateral relations between the two countries in the social, political, trade and economic dimensions. He shared his expectations about the forthcoming session of the Supreme State Council. The meeting also focused on migration control issues.
Special attention was drawn to the interaction of Belarus and Russia in integration formats. In this context, the participants of the meeting discussed the prospects of developing the Commonwealth of Independent States and the rules of work in the Eurasian Economic Union.
The participants of the meeting also touched upon Belarus’ cooperation with China and the country’s relations with the West.
The head of state shared his opinion about topical issues on the international agenda and his evaluation of the events in the region. The participants of the meeting also discussed the regulation of the conflict in Ukraine. They emphasized that it can be solved only at the negotiating table.
