Joint statement by Presidents of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation

Acting in the spirit of common approaches of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation and taking into account repeated statements of the United States and the European Union on the possibility to use economic restrictions against the Republic of Belarus, the Presidents of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation confirm that economic pressure or coercion is unacceptable in international relations.

These measures create artificial barriers in trade and unjustified obstacles to cooperation between economic entities, encroach upon legitimate rights of the economic security of the states, threatening the productive and mutually beneficial cooperation, integration processes on the Eurasian continent. This will have negative consequences for ordinary people, first of all.

The Presidents of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation are strongly convinced that only a dialogue based on equality and respect can help resolve international disputes. The Presidents condemn any actions impeding such a dialogue.
