Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent
greetings to the participants and guests of the 18th World Congress
of Russian Press.
The head of state remarked that over the years the congress has turned into a popular platform for the discussion of important issues on the international agenda, has made a big contribution to the formation of the Russian-language information space.
“Representatives of 140 nationalities and ethnic groups live in accord and harmony on the Belarusian soil. The Russian language, which is the official language together with the Belarusian language in the country, serves as an important factor of social consolidation, productive intercultural dialogue,” the message of greetings reads.
The President stressed that Belarus takes an active part in the integration processes on the post-Soviet space and pays special attention to the enhancement of allied relations with the brotherly nation of Russia.
Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed confidence that the exchange of experience and opinions between the participants of the congress will help develop humanitarian cooperation, bolster professional and personal contacts.
