On 28 December, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko presented state awards to distinguished Belarusians. At the ceremony the head of state praised the achievements of workers who managed not only to hold out in these difficult circumstances but also to reach new heights in their professional activities.

“Of course, Belarus’ wellbeing relies on the successes of concrete people, including workers, civil servants and directors. These are the people who do not waver in the face of problems and are looking for solutions,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

The President thanked Belarusian agrarians who managed to ensure the food security of Belarus in spite of the long period of drought; Belarusian builders who took part in a number of important industrial and social projects. The ceremony was attended by a big group of healthcare workers. They have made a big contribution to the development of such areas as the protection of maternity and childhood, neurology and neurosurgery, anesthesiology, prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. They have designed new methods of diagnostics, prevention and treatment of serious diseases. And now they are successfully used both in Belarus and abroad, restore people’s health and help thousands of people live their lives to the full.

During the state award ceremony the head of state said we live in a complicated time. New conflicts spark across the globe all the time. Tensions in relations between countries and nations continue unabated. “The fact that peace, law and public accord are secured in our soil has to do a lot with efforts of law enforcement and security agencies,” Aleksandr Lukashenko pointed out. The military personnel, who had made a noticeable contribution to the national defense, the protection of the state borders, and the training of soldiers and officers were awarded.

Addressing participants of the ceremony, Aleksandr Lukashenko said he would like the awards to become another milestone on their way to new accomplishments. “Raise new professionals and true patriots of their country. Create for the benefit of the fatherland. May luck and inspiration always attend you,” said the President. “Your accomplishments help us look into the future with hope. Your personal example proves that patience, labor, and dedication to one’s calling will prevail under any circumstances.” The head of state also told those present that he would like the new year to bring new victories in the implementation of their accomplished goals.
