Condolences to Egypt President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi

    On behalf of the Belarusian people and himself President Aleksandr Lukashenko has expressed condolences to Egypt President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, families and friends of the victims of the terrorist attacks in Tanta and Alexandria.

    “I am devastated by the news about the explosions in Tanta and Alexandria which killed and injured many Egyptian people. Belarusians share the pain and sorrow of the families of the victims and mourn together with the people of Egypt,” the message of condolences reads. “It is especially devastating because it took place on the day when Egyptian Christians and their fellow believers celebrated Palm Sunday.”

    The head of state stressed that the murder of people and intimidation of the society cannot be the tools for reaching any goals. “These events testify to the need to step up efforts and take resolute actions against radical groups and their ideology,” Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked.
