Commentary to Decree No. 567 of 5 December 2014
President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 567 “Concerning additional measures of consumer rights protection” on 5 December.
In accordance with the decree, the deputy healthcare minister – chief sanitary doctor of Belarus will be entitled to supervise the observance of sanitary norms and rules in retail trade and public catering.
The Economy Ministry will also delegate the authority to regulate and control prices for certain consumer goods (works, services) to the Trade Ministry.
The trade minister will have the right to impose a ban on the operation of trade and public catering facilities in case they fail to avoid violations of legislation in pricing, trade and public catering.
The document will help maintain order on the domestic consumer market, observe sanitary rules and norms, streamline the operation of retail trade and public catering facilities.
