Commentary to Decree No. 48 of 9 February 2015
On 9 February President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 48 “Concerning the state control (audit) over the observation of technical regulations”.
The document aims to ensure the observation of technical regulations of the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union, to raise the efficiency of control over the safety and quality of products available on the market of the country.
The document envisages that the authorized bodies of the Republic of Belarus in charge of the state control (audit) over the observation of technical regulations of the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union in the Republic of Belarus shall be appointed by the Council of Ministers of Belarus.
The system of bodies in charge of the state control (audit) over the observation of technical regulations in the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union on the consumer market of the Republic of Belarus has been specified by the decree.
The abovementioned government bodies will be responsible for the supervision of the observation of the national legislation and technical regulations of the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union.
The document provides for the administrative sanctions which can be imposed against legal entities and self-employed businessmen for the violation of technical regulations of the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union.
