Commentary to Decree No. 435
Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has signed Decree No. 435 in view of the Belarus government resigning following the presidential election.
In line with part 11, article 106 and paragraph 7, article 84 of the Constitution the prime minister, his or her deputies, ministers, heads of state committees, and the chief of staff of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus have been instructed to stay in office until the President forms a new Council of Ministers by issuing the relevant legal acts to appoint personnel to these positions.
The new Council of Ministers comprises the posts of the Head of the Belarus President Administration, the Chairperson of the State Control Committee, the Chairperson of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Chairperson of the National Statistics Committee, the Chairperson of the Board of the Belarusian National Union of Consumer Cooperatives.
