Commentary to Decree No. 271 of 9 June 2014
On 9 June President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 271 “Concerning the investment project” which aims to construct and launch a facility to produce metal sheet and tin plated steel in Miory District, Vitebsk Oblast.
The investment project is included in the national program of innovative development of the Republic of Belarus set to run in 2011-2015.
The Decree envisages the construction of the engineer and transport infrastructure of the abovementioned plant, electricity, gas and water supply networks (before 1 January 2016), and transport communications (before 1 July 2016).
The investment project has a huge social and economic importance for the region. It will help raise the export potential and reduce the country’s dependence on the import of such metal products. It will also create about 600 new jobs and increase the inflow of highly-qualified personnel to Miory District.
