Belarus to build solid waste landfill using EBRD loan

In 2018-2021 Belarus will use a €5 million of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) provided for the period of 15 years to build a new regional municipal solid waste landfill and modernize waste collection systems in Pukhovichi District and Cherven District. Corresponding decree No. 217 was signed by Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko.

The document has approved a draft loan agreement between Belarus and the EBRD as a basis for further talks.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been authorized to hold the talks and sign the agreement on the project.

The Council of Ministers has been instructed to ensure the repayment of the loan using the funds from the state budget in established terms and monitor the targeted use of the funds.
