Belarus President’s Talented Youth Support Fund awards over 1,500 people

    On 28 December Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed an executive order to approve the resolution of the Belarus President’s Talented Youth Support Fund.

    In accordance with the resolution of the fund, 1,581 students and teachers will be awarded. Scholarships of the fund for the first semester of the 2015/2016 academic year have been provided to 182 students of institutions of higher learning. Monetary prizes and lapel badges of the fund have been presented to 30 winners of various international academic excellence competitions. Monetary prizes have been also bestowed upon winners of the final stage of the nationwide academic excellence competition, scientific and creative contests, meetings of inventors and innovators, and a math competition for students.

    Prizes have been conferred on the winners of international professional excellence and research competitions, tournaments of young physicists and mathematicians, student quality management competitions.

    Encouragement prizes have been presented to 252 teachers, researchers and other people who have made the biggest contribution to the support of talented school and university students in the 2014/2015 academic year.

    Besides, the fund has provided financial assistance to eight scientific, research, and creative associations of students.

    The executive order of the President of the Republic of Belarus is a testimony to the constant state support of talented students aimed at the creation of favorable conditions for the development of the skills and intellectual potential of talented youth.
