Belarus President sends Unity Day greetings to Germany

    Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to Germany President Joachim Gauck as the country celebrates German Unity Day.

    “United Germany has quickly become one of the most important partners of sovereign Belarus. Over the past 25 years the countries have established thousands of contacts in various fields which makeup a reliable foundation for the development of bilateral relations,” the message of greetings reads.

    Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that Minsk and Berlin have made a number of concrete steps towards each other in recent time. It reaffirmed the mutual interest in restoring comprehensive political dialogue and intensifying cooperation, especially in the economy.
