Belarus President partakes in voluntary cleanup day

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko took part in the nationwide subbotnik (a voluntary cleanup day) on 25 April. He planted trees on the territory of the Pripyatsky National Park in Gomel Oblast.
At the end of April, the head of state traditionally visits regions which were affected by the Chernobyl disaster. Special attention is drawn to the restoration of those lands.
The president’s team planted 8,000 pines in the area of 1.5 hectares.
On 25 April, the head of state also talked to journalists.
