Aleksandr Lukashenko visits Belarusian State University on Knowledge Day
The development of education are and will always be Belarus' top priority, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the meeting timed to the Knowledge Day held at the Belarusian State University (BSU) on 1 September.
On 1 September the President traditionally visits Belarusian educational establishments. In 2012 Aleksandr Lukashenko visited the BSU International Relations Department.
According to Rector of the Belarusian State University, BSU comprises 16 departments, 10 educational institutes, a lyceum and a college, 4 research institutes, 9 scientific centers, 41 scientific research laboratories, 11 industrial enterprises, 178 sub-departments, 3 experimental stations, 3 museums. In the global rating of universities BSU is among top 600 universities of the world. The university develops international relations. BSU has entered into more than 270 agreements on international cooperation with over 50 countries. About 2,000 foreign students from 53 countries study at the university. In 2012 BSU revenues are expected to make up almost Br900 billion.
