Aleksandr Lukashenko to partake in CIS, CSTO summits in Moscow 15 May

    President Aleksandr Lukashenko has gone to the Russian Federation on a working visit. The Belarusian head of state is expected to take part in summits of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Commonwealth of Independent States in Russia on 15 May.

    Moscow will host a jubilee session of the CSTO Collective Security Council. The session will be timed to the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Collective Security Treaty and the 10th anniversary of the foundation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

    The heads of state are expected to discuss measures to collectively counteract global and regional security threats. They will sum up CSTO performance in the last ten years and will outline priority development areas.

    President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko will also take part in an informal session of the CIS Council of Heads of State. The session will discuss future cooperation within the CIS framework as well as topical international matters.
