Aleksandr Lukashenko takes part in nationwide subbotnik

President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko took part in the nationwide day of voluntary labor subbotnik on 12 April. The head of state together with government officials, students of the Belarusian State Medical University and three-times Olympic champion, Hero of Belarus Darya Domracheva worked at the construction site of the new building of the obstetric and gynecological department of Minsk hospital No. 5.

When the President arrived at the construction site he was informed about the construction progress. The works are conducted 12 months ahead of schedule. There are plans to commission the facility before 3 July 2015.

Then the President went to the construction site where his brigade helped build cement creeds.

This maternity hospital will be one of the biggest hospitals in Belarus which will meet all modern sanitary standards. The building will be comfortable for the personnel and new mothers. The quality of medical care will be improved as well. The obstetric and gynecological department will have its own lab fitted with cutting-edge equipment, physiotherapy and functional diagnostics rooms, modern facilities for university students.

The Belarusian capital is now involved in large-scale modernization and construction of new healthcare facilities. Some 56 important facilities were commissioned in 2010-2013. For example, four out-patient hospitals are currently being constructed in Minsk.
