Aleksandr Lukashenko sends Unity Day greetings to Russia President Vladimir Putin
Chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to Russia President Vladimir Putin as the two countries celebrate the Day of Unity of Peoples of Belarus and Russia.
“This important holiday symbolizes strong historical ties and the like-mindedness of our peoples. The Union State has a solid foundation relying on the rich spiritual and cultural legacy and on a huge economic potential of cooperation,” the message of greetings reads.
Aleksandr Lukashenko is convinced that by joint efforts the sides will continue the Union State construction and the development of integration processes on the principles of equality and mutual trust. “Millions of people of Belarus and Russia expect us to do so,” he said.
The Belarusian head of state has also sent Unity Day greetings to Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Union State, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matviyenko, Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia Vyacheslav Volodin, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Russia Gennady Zyuganov.
