Aleksandr Lukashenko sends Name Day greetings to Patriarch Kirill

    President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill on the occasion of his name day, Sts. Cyril and Methodius' Day.

    “The peoples of Belarus and Russia are connected by the history of more than a thousand years based on eternal Christian ideals. For many generations Eastern Orthodoxy became a life-giving source of faith, spirituality and heroism,” the message of greetings reads.

    “Under your leadership the Russian Orthodox Church continues to preserve and enrich the historical and cultural legacy being an example of high humanistic values, a beacon of patriotism and civil responsibility,” Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked.

    “Thanks to your active patriarchal and social activities you have become respected in the society. Let your noble service bring good results in the future,” the President said.
