Aleksandr Lukashenko sends name day greetings to Metropolitan Filaret

President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk, Patriarch Exarch of All Belarus Filaret on his name day, the Day of Saint Filaret the Kind.

“You have devoted your life to serving God, the Church and people, advocating eternal Christian ideals of kindness and humanism. Being the leader of the Belarusian Orthodox Church for 35 years you have put all effort into making it the source of noble humanist values, a beacon of patriotism and civil responsibility. Let your deeds and prayers help strengthen the authority of the Eastern Orthodox Church, promote peace and accord in the society,” the message of greetings reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko also wished Metropolitan Filaret health, spiritual and corporal strength, God’s help in his activities.
