Aleksandr Lukashenko sends greetings to participants of international exhibition of Orthodox icons
President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to the participants of the international exhibition of Orthodox icons “The Orthodox world. The image of Christ in the iconography Eastern Europe” which has opened in Minsk.
According to the head of state, a unique international project which is held in the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Russia is a testimony to the inseparable spiritual and cultural unity of the fraternal nations, their dedication to Orthodox traditions and values.
“It is symbolic that for the first time the National Art Museum displays iconographic masterpieces of the four Slavonic states which are connected by many centuries of friendship and good-neighborliness, namely Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and Serbia,” the message of greetings reads.
