Aleksandr Lukashenko sends greetings to participants of Conference of European Rabbis
Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to the
participants of the Conference of European Rabbis.
“Having rich moral traditions and values, the Belarusian state and society cherish the principles of tolerance and openness to dialogue. We have accumulated unique experience of preserving and supporting interreligious peace and accord, and we are by right proud of it,” the message of greetings reads. The head of state stressed that Belarus is a comfortable home for people of different nationalities and religions.
“Jewish people have played a big role in our history. It can be proved by the fact that there are many memorable places and landmarks in Belarus,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
The President stressed that Judaism has a respectable place among other religious denominations in Belarus. Social, charity, and cultural events organized by Jewish religious organizations are important for the Belarusian society.
