Aleksandr Lukashenko sends greetings to new Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk, Patriarch Exarch of All Belarus Pavel 

President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent his best greetings to Metropolitan Pavel who was appointed Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk, Patriarch Exarch of All Belarus.

 “The Eastern Orthodox Church is a leading church in the country. It makes a big contribution to the preservation and enrichment of spiritual and moral values of the Belarusian nation. The Belarusian state maintains true partnership with the church, promotes an engaged and constructive dialogue aimed at the resolution of the most important social issues,” the message of greetings reads.

 “You have huge experience of work in Orthodox churches located in various countries. You are respected and appreciated by the clergy and believers. I am convinced that as a leader of the Belarusian Orthodox Church you will do your best to preserve and promote traditions of cooperation between the state and the Church, will make an input in bolstering stability, accord and peace in the Belarusian society,” the head of state remarked.
