President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent his best greetings to Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk, Patriarch Exarch of All Belarus Filaret who celebrates the 35th anniversary of his pastoral service in Belarus.
“Over the years you have done a lot not only to revive the Eastern Orthodox Church in Belarus but also to restore many holy shrines, streamline the system of clergy training, promote theological research, develop humanitarian secular education. For your versatile activities you have been decorated with the Hero of Belarus title. This is a testimony to both the acknowledgement of your efforts to preserve and enrich the spiritual heritage and to the high status of the Belarusian Orthodox Church in the country,” the message of greetings reads.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Metropolitan Filaret health, unflagging energy, every success in his pastoral service.
