Aleksandr Lukashenko sends birthday greetings to Metropolitan Filaret
President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent birthday greetings to Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk, Patriarch Exarch of All Belarus Filaret.
“You use your rich spiritual experience, knowledge and energy to serve God and people. Your personal contribution to promoting the Orthodox church in the Belarusian land, preserving and enriching authentic historical and cultural legacy of the nation is unquestionable,” the felicitation message reads.
“People appreciate and respect you not only as a pastor, preacher, a man of prayer, but also as a loving teacher who always has a kind word and good advice. Your Eminence, to a large extent your reasonable position helps Belarus preserve firm traditions of tolerance and religious stability,” the head of state remarked.
