Aleksandr Lukashenko meets with NBRB chief Nadezhda Yermakova
President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Chairperson of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus Nadezhda Yermakova on 13 August.
Nadezhda Yermakova updated the head of state about the situation on the currency market and the credit market. Top on the agenda were also operations with retail deposits and credits, including housing construction credits.
The President ordered to make sure the currency market keeps operating steadily. Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that targets related to gold and foreign currency reserves should be fulfilled.
The head of state noted that the government and the National Bank should keep inflation within the established band.
Aleksandr Lukashenko also spoke about the role of the National Bank in export operations.
The Chairperson of the National Bank assured that there are good preconditions to boost exports, which will in turn guarantee servicing of external debts and keeping the gold and foreign currency reserves within a safe level.
