Belarus and China will develop all-round strategic partnership. The statement was made at the meeting between President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko and Meng Jianzhu, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the secretary of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, a member of the State Council of China, on 1 November.
“I believe your visit as a representative of the China president will open a new page in our rather intensive consultations and relations,” the President stressed.
“China is a strategic ally of Belarus. Our relations have been built since the first day of independence while the foundation was laid down back in the Soviet Union times,” the Belarusian leader said.
According to the President, there are absolutely no problems between Belarus and China from the point of view of the future development of the global situation. “Today we have the same views on the international agenda,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized.
The head of state noted that China is at the forefront of the effort aimed at bringing about a multi-polar world. “We also uphold the same view,” the President said. “We have always supported and will support China in matters of territorial integrity. We will also act together in counteracting assaults staged by individual forces in the West in matters relating to human rights and other things. We know these things well,” he added.
Aleksandr Lukashenko also said that good relations and a common view on matters evolve between Belarus and China in politics.
The President said that Belarus and China have been steadily developing their trade and economic relations as well as bilateral ties in the financial area. The Belarusian leader thanked the Chinese side for financial support of many projects in Belarus.
At the same time, the President of Belarus said that Belarus is interested in direct investments: “Of course we would like to see more Chinese direct investment in the Belarusian economy.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko said that Belarus and China have determined many cooperation areas, including the construction of the Chinese-BelarusianIndustrial Park in Belarus. The park will make home to high-technology companies.
“Please, tell my good friend Xi Jinping that we will stay committed to our bilateral relations,” the President of Belarus said addressing the Chinese guest.
Meng Jianzhu, for his part, said that China is in favor of an even higher level of strategic partnership with Belarus.
"I fully share your view that we need to raise the strategic partnership between China and Belarus to a new level," Chinese guest said.
Meng Jianzhu conveyed sincere greetings from the President of the People’s Republic of China "who praised the great success of the Belarusian President's visit to China this summer” to Aleksandr Lukashenko.
"The President of the People’s Republic of China also attaches great importance to your proposal to strengthen the cooperation in ensuring security of information exchange,” Meng Jianzhu said.
Meng Jianzhu underlined that he came to Minsk on the instructions of the President of the People’s Republic of China with the aim of further development of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
