Belarus is proud of its relations with China. Belarusian head of state Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Gong Jianwei on 5 December. The meeting was dedicated to the end of Gong Jianwei’s diplomatic mission in Belarus.

“We are proud of having such good relations with this great power. And these relations started a long time ago when China was getting back on its feet. Back then in the development of China we saw the beginnings worth paying attention to. We have learned a lot from the People’s Republic of China,” the President emphasized.

The President reminded that when he was a member of the parliament, he recommended taking a closer look at China’s experience. “We have studied China’s experience very attentively. I believe we have chosen the right policy and we already have a long history of relations with this nation,” the Belarusian leader said.

According to the President, every Belarusian can tell a lot of positive things about Belarus-China cooperation.

“China is not the future of the planet now, but its present,” Aleksandr Lukashenko is convinced. In his opinion, it is impossible to make decisions on global and regional matters without taking into account China’s view.
