Aleksandr Lukashenko confers state awards on distinguished Belarusians

Labor productivity growth is the foundation for quality improvement of the economic situation of the country and well-being of people, President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he presented state awards to distinguished Belarusians.

Addressing the attendees, the head of state emphasized that the achievements of each of them multiply tangible and intangible wealth of the Fatherland. Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed his appreciation to representatives of the manufacturing industry that is demonstrating good progress this year – over 7% of production growth compared with last year. “The main thing is that labor productivity rose by 10%. This is the foundation for quality improvement of the economic situation of the country and well-being of people. When labor productivity increases, people’s income rises, too. It is important that labor collectives of machine-building companies are in the vanguard of these positive trends,” the President said.

The head of state congratulated Amkodor employees on the awards they received for contribution to the development of domestic machine production industry. “This company successfully implements the major socioeconomic development targets. The average annual output expanded by 30% over the two years. The production growth is attributed to higher labor productivity. The renovation of production is gaining momentum, too. The company is expanding exports and ensuring a trade surplus,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The medals “For Labor Achievements” were bestowed upon workers of Mogilevtransmash affiliated with Minsk Automobile Plant.

“Not only machine producers, but also everyone in attendance has a lot to be proud of. This is clearly seen in your work achievements. Take, for example, Agrokombinat Snov, the flagship of the agricultural industry. This is an example of high standards in farming, livestock breeding and use of advanced technology. Future belongs to such large farms,” the President noted.

The state awards were also presented to a large group of executives of regional branches of the Belarusian Association of Veterans. The organization recently celebrated the 25th anniversary since founding. “It is one of the main pillars of our civil society. The organization is very actively engaged in patriotic education of young people. Your experience is needed by a new generation of citizens; your authority in the society is indisputable,” the head of state stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko also congratulated the staff of the public organization DOSAAF: “Your work on patriotic education of young people is particularly important for our country today.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko addressed cordial words of gratitude to teachers who raised and trained a lot of professionals. The ceremony was attended by the best school and university teachers.

“We all know that the foundation of a strong and effective state is law and order. So I address special thanks to those who dedicated their life to combating social ills. The best employees were awarded honorary titles “Honored worker of the procuracy bodies of the Republic of Belarus,” the head of state continued.
