Ecuador has an important place in Belarus' plans to develop trade and economic relations with Latin America. Belarus-Ecuador bilateral trade is mostly carried out through the third countries. The trade volume is rather small. However, within past five years the bilateral trade doubled to reach $47 million in 2011.
The heads of state are expected to discuss joint projects. The economic potential of the two countries testifies to the possibility to boost bilateral cooperation in economy, science, technology, education, etc.
Belarus has a huge sci-tech and industrial potential and is ready to supply a wide range of goods to Ecuador at reasonable prices. Belarus can export, first of all, dump trucks, agricultural equipment, tractors, road construction equipment, passenger vehicles, mineral fertilizers, machines, tires, chemical fibers, optics and electronics.
