Aleksandr Lukashenko approves Belarus citizenship oath

    Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has signed Decree No. 222 to approve the text of the oath citizens of the Republic of Belarus are supposed to swear and how individuals, who become citizens of the Republic of Belarus, are supposed to swear it.

    The document also lists the individuals, who do not have to swear the oath. The document also stipulates the procedure for submitting papers to the head of state about the loss of citizenship due to participation in extremist activities or due to causing grave damage to interests of the Republic of Belarus by individuals staying outside the country.

    The Decree was developed with a view to realizing the latest amendments to the law on the citizenship of the Republic of Belarus.
