Address to the National Assembly

Every citizen should be beneficial to his Fatherland, Belarusian president Aleksandr Lukashenko said in State of the Nation Address to the Belarusian People and the National Assembly on 23 May.
This is the greatest merit of the state and the people. For the country to be prosperous, it is not enough to see only the authority serving the people, the head of state said.
“Belarus is swiftly progressing. Today we are setting a new ambitious goal: to promote our country to the rank of highly developed European states. We have every opportunity for this”, Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
The Belarusian economy is reporting enormous growth. The country is pursuing a progressive social policy which meets the needs of an individual; this is why there is no ground for social contradictions and conflicts. “The most important thing is the highest degree of confidence which the people have placed in the authority and the course it is pursuing. This is an indispensable and priceless resource which is a foundation for constructing a strong and developed Belarus”, the head of state noted.
