Inauguration ceremony of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko

Aleksandr Lukashenko has been officially sworn in.

In presence of the country’s top-officials and numerous guests, Aleksandr Lukashenko put his right hand on the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus and declared the words of the oath of allegiance to the Belarusian people:

“In performing my duties as the President of the Republic of Belarus I pledge to serve the people of Belarus faithfully, respect and protect the rights and freedoms of every citizen; to observe and protect the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus and will faithfully execute the office of President of the Republic of Belarus”.

After signing the official statement on the oath of office, chairperson of the central election commission Lidia Yermoshina handed over a special ID to Aleksandr Lukashenko which testifies that he has been elected President of the Republic of Belarus.

Gennadiy Novitskiy, chairman of the Council of the Republic, on behalf of the National Assembly of Belarus has congratulated the newly sworn-in president on this momentous event.

The head of state has also been congratulated by chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus Grigoriy Vasilevich and Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk Filaret, the Patriarch of Exarch of All-Belarus.
